As I sit down to plan the next round of fundraising for my kids school – it’s neverending, who knew?- I realized that I should be thanking everyone who participated in the last fundraiser from before Christmas, we raised enough money to top off the blackout blinds fund and bought them.
And here they are! Or at least, some of them.
They cover all the windows in the gym so not only can we block the sun while our children perform plays, we can also darken the gym when we have guests performing, on one side the windows are south facing so the sun just streams right in, straight to where our stage is.
Guest such as the Edmonton Opera visiting our school today, treating us to a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk, wonderfully modified to suit a school crowd. Now our guests no longer have sun beams in their eyes as they delight us with tales and song.
It’s nice to see what you have actually contributed too, so thank you everyone. Thank you to my friends and family that bought, my co-workers who bought bucketloads (seriously! love you!) and even strangers with big hearts like Ann from Fort Sask who bought a TON off of me, not even knowing me or my children in real life.
You can see that your support has made a difference! The kids have more pride in our gym and definitely more pride in our ability to host such amazing talent such as the Edmonton Opera.
So again, thanks!

Was this all the Ukrainian stuff? Paul and I just polished off the last of it Thursday night.
Glad the show was a hit.
