March is a crazy time of year for us, I run the Culinary Arts Cook OffĀ Ā which sees me literally up and running every morning for a few weeks before it. So during those weeks, my time management skills are put to the test!
Lunches have to be packed the night before, clothes need to be laid out. My computer has to be packed up to take to the school the next morning and all of my IPhone cords have to be found and ready to use. Never mind getting the KIDS out of the house, for a while before the cook off I have to get MYSELF and all my gear out the door, which adds to the chaos.
When the chance came up to try out Pillsbury Toaster strudels for a small campaign, I said yes, because the Cook Off time is exactly the time of year when we are into pre-packaged, fast breakfasts in the morning to save my sanity!
When we went to Safeway to pick them up, I asked my daughter to grab some out of the freezer aisle and she turned to me and said, “What’s a toaster strudel?”
Really? My kids had made it to 8 and 10 without a toaster strudel? How did I make it through a camping season without toaster strudel in the trailer last year? Toaster strudels may not be in my freezer all year round but how did I miss them for camping?
Well, that problem has been rectified. My kids have officially tried them and of course, liked them.
Now, you may think me all artsy by making the kids draw a sun (that’s Mr K’s) and then my daughter drew a plate with a fork and knife above, according to her, but there’s a contest going on. YouĀ can post your Ā Strudelgram art on the Facebook contest site betweenĀ February 21, 2014 and March 28, 2014Ā and one lucky contestant will have the chance to win a grand prize. You can find the site here:Ā www.strudelgram.ca.
Now my real problem getting out the door on time in the mornings?
These two read. And read and read and read. It’s like their morning newspaper. One gets her Archie comics and the other gets his E-Reader and trying to hurry them up means I have to take them away to get them moving at all. It could be worse, I guess.
Does anyone else have readers in the morning? I soon learned that the TV could NEVER be on, I’d never get my kids out the door! Ā The books are bad enough!
Love,
Karlynn
