Bourbon lovers unite! Refreshing and delicious, this Sparkling Citrus Bourbon Lemonade will soon become your new favorite drink! It’s not just for summer, you can make this any time of year and enjoy it when you want a refreshing cocktail.

How to Make This Bourbon Lemonade

For this drink, you will need:

  • Fresh mint
  • Lemonade
  • Oranges and Lemons (one of each)
  • Orange Juice
  • Bourbon
  • Club Soda
  • and ice!

Follow the instructions in the recipe card below to prepare this bourbon lemonade and serve with a sprig of mint and a slice of lemon or orange on the side of the glass if you want to spruce things up.

Don’t have a juicer? That’s ok!

If you don’t have a juicer or something similar (to get the juices out from the citrus) you can use a muddler and muddle them on the bottom of the glass prior to preparing the rest of the drink.

Simple Syrup

For this cocktail, you need to make my Mint Honey Simple Syrup. If you haven’t yet, I recommend doing so. While you can use fine white sugar in your drinks, the mint honey flavor is what is making these drinks so seriously amazing. Double the batch and keep it in your fridge for your drinks if desired. It’s essential for this specific cocktail as well.

Enjoy!

Mike

Ingredients

  • 5 leaves mint
  • 3 tablespoons mint honey simple syrup
  • 4 cubes ice
  • 2 slices lemon halved
  • 1 orange quartered
  • 1/2 ounce orange juice
  • 3 ounces lemonade`
  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 1 can club soda

Instructions

  • Place the mint and the honey in the bottom of a large cocktail glass (I LOVE mason jars for this) and muddle them together. (smash them to get the oils of the mint out)
  • Place the lemon and orange in the bottom and press the juices out.
  • Add in the juices and bourbon.
  • With the juices, if making from concentrate, use less water than called for so you have a strong, tasty juice to add to your drink.
  • Fill the glass with ice.
  • Fill with club soda. Mix and enjoy!

Notes

If you prefer a strong drink, add another shot of bourbon.

Have you even made this in a pitcher for group rather than individual glasses? Wondering about the measurements for that.

Mmm yeah I’ll be playing around with honey whiskey this summer too!

Triple like. I bet it would be good with honey whiskey too and just to prove I’m not a wimp, I’ll use 3 oz.

We were drinking these when it was plus 29! My husband loved them, which surprised me. They’re now one of his new favorite summer drinks!

The Kitchen Magpie – I am a bit of a bourbon wimp so may put less of that. However, what I am going to do is instead of water icecubes, I am going to freeze orange juice instead to it doesn’t get watered down. =)

You NEED to try this! Just blame it on me 😉
