This recipe for Quickie Homemade Cinnamon Rolls is one that I have used more times than I can count for a last-minute brunch or breakfast sweet treat.
If you love these, definitely try my Bisquick™ Cinnamon Rolls or my Homemade Monkey Bread.
Simple and Quick Cinnamon Rolls
What I love about these is how easy they are to make. You prepare them directly in a muffin tin which is super simple and it only requires a few basic ingredients.
Now to get started you’ll need a muffin tin; as mentioned; and I recommend you make my Buttery Vanilla Glaze in advance or after making these for the topping.
Biscuits Not Buns
These are more of a quick biscuit rather than a dough, so do not expect a doughy bun but rather a cinnamon flavored biscuit texture.
How to Store
Store these in a sealed container at room temperature for up to 5 days. To freeze, place them into a freezer-safe container or bag and freeze for up to 3 months.

Substitutes for Cinnamon Roll Frosting?
Using supermarket cinnamon roll frosting might seem like a bit of a cheat, but it really does taste incredible and is an easy cheat if you want to make things a bit easier.
However, if you really want to make your own, you can just whip up a quick powdered sugar glaze. Mix 2 tablespoons of melted butter with 2 teaspoons of vanilla and 4 tablespoons of milk into about 2 cups of powdered sugar. Keep mixing it with a whisk until it is fully incorporated, and you are left with a rich, liquid glaze that you can drizzle onto your rolls.
Happy Baking!

- 2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cold butter
- 1 cup milk
Cinnamon topping
- 1/3 cup butter softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/3 cup chopped raisins

Instructions
- Whisk together the dry ingredients. Cut in the butter until it’s the size of small peas. Mix in the milk until the dough forms a ball.
- Turn out the dough onto light floured surface and roll into 12 x 8 inch rectangle
- Combine the first three topping ingredients and spread them onto the dough. Sprinkle the raisins over the top and then roll up the dough jelly-roll style.
- Cut into 12 even pieces.
- Place into muffin cups and bake at 400 degrees until the rolls are browned and the cinnamon mixture is bubbling.
- Cool slightly, then remove from the tins.
- Glaze with my buttery Vanilla Glaze.

One of the most poorly written recipes I’ve ever read. I think she means for one to gradually add milk until a ball forms. If not, then either there’s too much milk or not enough flour. The filling spilled out over the pan onto the muffin tins and oven. Don’t know if she uses standard tins, as I did, or the larger ones. Very sweet. If I make again, I’d cut back on the filling.

I was not optimistic as the dough was so wet, as should be expected from a 2 to 1 flour to milk ratio. I had to add more flour than I felt comfortable and then scraped them as best I could into a roll shape with a bench knife. I am here to say that while they don’t taste much like a cinnamon roll, they taste like a hybrid muffin/biscuit (American) and with the glaze, they are pretty tasty anyway. I can see someone with less experience in the kitchen having real difficulty with this.

What is your recipe for the glaze?

These are AMAZING. I’ve tried a few no yeast cinnamon roll recipes, and these are by far the best.
Came together in less than an hour!

It would be helpful if you were to include the recipe for the “Homemade Buttery Vanilla Glaze”

I found that if you touch the words it takes you to the site for the glaze. Here’re the ingredients:
Ingredients
▢ 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
▢ 2 tablespoons cream half and half or whipping cream work
▢ 1/8 teaspoon salt
▢ 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
▢ 2-3 tablespoons melted butter
Mix and add more or less cream to desired consistency.

Oh my goodness. My sister is also Karlynn, spelled the same. She sells real estate in Niwot, CO. We’ve only known one other; her namesake a family friend who passed in the 50s.
My friend shared your cinnamon roll recipe. I will try it with GF flour.
