This fruity apple bread definitely delivers the comfort factor with its tender shredded apples and its alluring cinnamon aroma. You can sweeten it up a little more by adding a buttery vanilla glaze to it if you like! I like to enjoy a slice of this bread with my tea making it a great evening snack.
Top with a streusel
This cinnamon spice apple loaf can be topped with an easy streusel that will add a little extra sweetness.
Types of Apples To Use In Baking
For the best baking, such as pies and crisps, apples need to be a little firmer to stay together when cooked. These are called “baking apples.” The common baking apples are honey gold, Jona Gold, Fuji, Gala, or Granny Smith. For apples that you want to break down a little more, like in sauces or some breads, you can use apples like red delicious, golden delicious, or pink lady. The choice is up to you!
How To Make Apple Bread
As this is a quick bread, you’ll find it much easier to prepare and bake than a yeast bread or cake!
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and eggs, add in the sugars, add in the vanilla, mix. stir in the shredded apples.
- Whisk flour, salt, baking powder, and spices in a separate bowl. Add to the apple mixture.
- Scoop the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 30 mins – cover with foil if the top is getting too dark. Continue baking 25 mins more.
- Cool the bread in the loaf pan for 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Enjoy.
This cinnamon spice apple bread is a great way to use up any extra apples that have been taking up space in your kitchen for a bit too long. My Copycat Cracker Barrel Fried Apples ( Slow Cooker or Instant Pot!) is another delicious way to use extra apples!
Happy baking!
Love,
Karlynn

This is an excellent recipe. I grated 1/3 of the apples and cut the rest in small chunks.. Also only used a pinch of the cloves. I would have taken a picture but my family ate the whole thing within minutes!!
