What could be better than a cocktail made from Midori – the liqueur that was introduced at a Saturday Night Fever launch party at Studio 54? Nothing, that’s what. This, ladies and gentlemen is a Midori Sour.
How to Make a Midori Sour
This cocktail requires a few ingredients such as Midori (if you aren’t familiar with Midori, more information can be found below), Vodka, Club Soda, Lemon Juice and Lime Juice.
Preparing the Midori Sour
Combine Midori, vodka and lemon / lime juices in a shaker with ice. Pour into a tall cocktail glass or Tom Collins glass with ice and top with club soda. Garnish and serve.
Garnishing ideas
Umbrella, Lemon Slice, Lime Slice or perhaps a Melon Wedge.
What is Midori?
Midori is a melon liqueur that was introduced at the famous New York hot-spot / night club, Studio 54 by none other than the cast and crew of Saturday Night Fever. It works beautifully in this drink, which makes me think of it as a kind of boozy Mountain Dew.
Where To Buy Midori for a Midori Sour?
Midori is available at most liquor stores. You can find it in the liqueurs section. It is a specific brand as opposed to a type of liqueur and while there are other melon based liqueurs, they are not the same as Midori itself (I can’t speak to their taste but they may be close and may work as substitutes if you can’t find any).
