Honey mustard sauce is one of my favorite dips for chicken strips which is, conveniently, what led to the creation of this recipe. I wanted to try my hand at some good old homemade chicken strips for the family and the craving for honey mustard meant I also needed to give this recipe a whirl too.

I’ve always loved Honey Mustard sauce and one of the types I’ve always aspired to recreate is the one you get from Wendy’s with their chicken strips. Well, folks, I think I finally nailed it!

What’s in my Honey Mustard Sauce

I’ve seen a fair number of recipes out there but this one, which I tweaked to my personal tastes, is my favorite so far. To make it, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Mayonnaise
  • Prepared yellow mustard
  • Dijon mustard
  • Liquid honey

The best part of this recipe is that it’s so quick and easy to make. You simply combine these ingredients and mix them well and boom! The perfect honey mustard sauce!

How to Store it

In a sealed container, you can keep this for about a week or so at most. I wouldn’t recommend pushing it past that point. As with anything, however, always check it to ensure it’s not begun to spoil before use as some refrigerator temperatures can vary so I can’t make any promises it’ll last any specific amount of time. To play it safe, I simply make what I need for the day since it’s so simple to slap together.

Serving your Honey Mustard Sauce

I’m personally serving up mine in my Jadeite sauce dish (which I got from Bed, Bath and Beyond btw) and it works perfectly. Something simple like this is a fantastic way to serve it up and to use for dipping those delicious chicken strips into!

What else can you use Honey Mustard on?

There are plenty of ways to use honey mustard aside from as a dip for chicken fingers. For instance, you can easily spread this one a sandwich to amp things up a bit and give it an extra kick. It’s also particularly good with ham and pork products so consider trying that as well. You can even use it on a salad or as a vegetable dip if that’s your jam!

Happy cooking!
