Strawberry Banana Smoothies

The good thing about a smoothie is that it’s a quick and easy way to not only get your fruit in but also to use up expiring fruit before it starts to truly go bad. You can make these in several ways, such as using regular milk or substituting standard cow milk for other options such as oat milk, rice milk, or coconut milk. Obviously, some of the flavour profiles will change slightly but the recipe works just fine either way. The same applies to the yogurt we are including in this recipe. If you want to use coconut or soy yogurts instead, it will work just fine. The only real change will be in the flavour and perhaps the thickness, depending on what you use as a substitute.

How to Make Strawberry Banana Smoothies

To make this smoothie, place your banana, strawberries, yogurt, and honey into a blender (for exact measurements, see the recipe card below) and blend on high until smooth and free of chunks. Pour into a tall glass, such as the one pictured below, and garnish with a strawberry or banana slice. Insert a straw and enjoy!

Tips for a Thicker Strawberry Banana Smoothie

If you want your smoothie to be thicker, increase the amount of strawberries (we used 1/2 cup) and lower the amount of milk by 1/2 cup.  This will give you a thicker end result. Personally, I found the measurements we used to be suitable for our family, but some people want more of a milkshake result, so here’s how you can do it! Remember that this recipe is easy to adjust, so feel free to tweak it as desired.

Enjoy!

Mike
