Cucumber water is pretty simple to make—it consists of two simple ingredients—but it’s a great way to increase your water intake. It also goes really well with breakfast, like our Steak and Eggs Recipe, for instance.

Cucumber Water

Cucumber water is one of those things that reminds me of either going to a spa with Karlynn or a hotel lobby. It brings to mind the big jugs of cucumber water the kids always run to when we first check into a hotel after a long road trip – and I get it; it’s refreshing stuff! This is obviously not a complex recipe, but I wanted to get up for those of you looking to increase your water intake and add a bit of flavor.

How to Prepare Cucumber Water

Believe it or not, you can make this in numerous ways, but I feel like the method we’ve used is one of the best ways to get the most cucumber flavor into the water. While you could slice and drop your cucumber into a pitcher and be done with it, if you slice the cucumber into ribbons using either a potato peeler or a sharp knife, you get more surface area of the cucumber, which infuses better. The other benefit is that it looks nice in the drink (though that’s only usually important if someone else is enjoying it with you!).

What I like to do is take a potato peeler and peel off one side of the cucumber first, then keep going (while applying just enough force to create ribbons but not enough to squish the cucumber insides). This makes nice, long ribbons you can drop into your pitcher (like you see in our pics).

Then top the pitcher with ice, stir it, and serve.

How Long Does Cucumber Water Last

I wouldn’t push the Cucumber water past probably 3-4 days in the refrigerator. The longer you leave it in the fridge, the more cucumber will be infused into the water, and it could start to get a bit slimy after three days or so. Ideally, since it’s pretty easy to make, I’d recommend just making it in the morning and making it your goal to finish it before the end of the evening. This is a great way to boost your water intake, which, I’ll admit, is something I for sure need to do, and it guarantees you a nice refreshing drink throughout the day.

I hope you enjoy it!

I drink way too much pop. I fully admit that. I have a huge water bottle that holds the amount of water you are supposed to drink in a day, so she’s a big girl. I made this cucumber water in her and I was so impressed because I started not only finishing the whole bottle on most days, but also making a second one, probably due to the crazy heat we’ve had. Totally recommend if you have a hard time getting the water intake you need in.5 stars

I’ve only tried cucumber water once, but it was the most refreshing drink I’ve ever had! How long does it take for the flavour to infuse?

It’s pretty quick actually, within an hour it’s already pretty strong because of the strips. A lot of the times it’s made with slices which don’t infuse as Quickly. Because we are using long strips, it infuses quite fast
