Delicious and incredibly easy 3 ingredient root beer pulled pork that is made even easier by using a slow-cooked. This pulled pork is incredibly versatile and takes basically no effort at all to make high-quality pork that falls apart at a single touch.
Why not use this pulled pork to make some amazing Pulled Pork Sandwiches? Or some Pulled Pork Nachos instead?
Root Beer Pulled Pork
Pulled pork is a mainstay of barbeque food for a very good reason. Done properly, it should be succulent, tender, and juicy, as well as falling apart the moment a fork touches it.
The key to any great pulled pork is making sure that you cook it for however long it takes. Sometimes that could be 8 hours, other times 10 hours; always leave it for as long as it takes to start falling apart when you shred it with a fork.

What Kind of Barbeque Sauce Should You Use Here?
Most people have their own favorite type of barbeque sauce that just seems to work in every situation imaginable. IF you are one of those people with a bottle of your favorite brand always sitting ready in your fridge, then you should definitely use that one.
However, for those that have yet to decide on their own personal barbeque sauce preferences, there are so many different types to choose from.
While most supermarkets tend to classify all barbeque sauces as being roughly the same, there are actually all kinds of different types for you to choose from.
There’s the somewhat more classic Texas-style, using some extra spices and cumin and a bit of a thinner consistency, or the much thicker and more tomato-forward Kansas City style that is a lot sweeter.
If you tried to buy barbeque sauce in the Carolinas, you might be surprised to find that there are literally three different styles, all of which are trumped as the best that there is. East Carolina offers the early type that is a lot more of a spiced vinegar sauce, whereas Western Carolina is a bit more like ketchup in flavor; South Carolina is even more different, using yellow mustard as the primary base.
There’s even Memphis style that uses molasses, so it is super thick and sweet.
Whatever your preference is, just pick something that tastes delicious to you and run with it! You might want to try it out a little bit first to see if you like it before dousing your expensive pork shoulder in it, though.
What To Use This Root Beer Pulled Pork In
This recipe makes for a super flavorful, intensely barbeque-like pulled pork but is definitely not really a meal in its own right.
Instead, you should use this pulled pork as a sort of base for a bunch of other recipes.
For example, a simple lunch might be some of this pulled pork wedged inside of a sub roll for a great pulled pork sandwich. Or, you should cover some homemade tortilla chips or soft shell tacos for some pulled pork nachos!
Some people also choose to use pulled pork as a sort of side dish – tuck it tightly into a small bowl, top with sliced white onion and some cilantro, and it acts as a delicious meaty side dish to the main meal!
