This Pineapple Martini is similar in many ways to the popular French Martini. It simply leaves out the Raspberry Liqueur which is the only real differentiating ingredient. This is a great cocktail for a summer evening on the deck or just when you are feeling the pineapple flavours.
How to Make a Pineapple Martini
To get started making this cocktail, you’ll want to ensure you have a Boston Shaker which is the device which home bartenders use to shake their cocktails, combing the ingredients while also chilling everything nicely.
You can often pick them up on Amazon or at your local supplier for a reasonable price ($10-20) or do what I do and go hit some thrift stores, you’ll often find much nicer ones than you can buy in the store and for far cheaper (just make sure to wash them thoroughly).
Once you have the equipment you need, it’s time to start combining the cocktail.
Pour the Vodka and Pineapple Juice into the Boston shaker with a few ice cubes (try to use larger ones, not chipped as they do not dissolve as quickly and you can water down your drink accidentally if you use too small of ice cubes).
You want to shake the ingredients until the Boston shaker is cold to the touch, then pour into a chilled Martini glass like the one pictured below. I often fill my glasses with ice while mixing the drink, then dump the ice in the sink and pour the cocktail in. It’s a very easy and common way to chill the glass quickly.
How to Garnish the Drink
Next up is the garnishing. Cut yourself a nice small pineapple slice, run a metal cocktail skewer through and then add on a raspberry. You will now make a small slice on the tip of the piece of pineapple and slide it over the edge and pop it into the glass. You are now ready to serve!
Enjoy responsibly!
