Whipped Feta Dip
Simple, elegant, and surprisingly salty, feta cheese is a brilliant ingredient when you use it right.
By combining feta cheese with a few extra flavorings, as well as a little spice and plenty of fat, you can make a rich, creamy dip that works equally well as a party appetizer and as a spread.
Could You Use Powdered Seasonings?
The addition of fresh garlic, dill, and basil in your dip really helps to bring the whole dip together. The herbs add a freshness to the dip and little speckles of green for extra color. While the garlic
While we all might aspire to have a fragrant windowsill in our kitchen stocked with all of the essential herb plants, we might need this is rarely the case. To make your feta dip, you will likely have to plan ahead and buy packets of fresh herbs from the store.
Could you instead use the powdered seasonings that you have on your spice rack? Yes, dried herbs and garlic granules might not be able to provide the same textural addition to your dip, but they will still have the same impact on the flavor.
Is It Worth Making Your Own Mayonnaise?
Homemade mayonnaise is one of those things that, once you try, it is hard to go back. The difference between dipping chips in homemade mayonnaise and store-bought mayonnaise is night and day.
But, when you plan to use mayonnaise as an ingredient in a recipe, rather than eating it as its own thing, is it really worth going to all of the efforts of making it from scratch?
Making mayonnaise is not difficult once you have the method down, and the ingredients required are mostly basic kitchen essentials. What tends to put people off of making mayonnaise is that it takes time.
To stop your mayonnaise emulsion from breaking, you must drizzle the oil into the egg yolk very slowly. This process requires careful attention to get right and does add to the time it takes to make this whipped feta dip recipe.
The Difference is Minimal
Taking the time to make homemade mayonnaise will also result in a better final product. However, when used with so many other ingredients, like with this feta dip, the difference is minimal.
If you have the time and you want to try making your own mayonnaise for this recipe, there is absolutely no reason to be put off. At the same time, it is not essential, and your whipped feta dip will be just as delicious with store-bought mayonnaise.
How To Serve Your Whipped Feta Dip
What you choose to serve with a dip can really make or break your guest’s enjoyment. The trick is to serve your dip alongside something that will be neutral enough to let the dip taste shine through. While also not being so bland that the last pieces that don’t make it into the dip are unpleasant to eat.
Here are some ideas for snacks to serve with your whipped feta dip.
- Pita Chips
Pita chips pair with almost any dip and will act as the perfect delivery system for your whipped feta dip.
Pita chips offer a balance between not having too much flavor that they distract from the dip while also not being so bland that the last pieces are completely flavorless.
Pita chips for dipping can be found in almost any grocery store, but why not try making your own chips to serve alongside your dip?
Vegetable Sticks
Sliced vegetable sticks are another great option for serving with your dip. Carrots and celery and cucumbers are the most common choices for dipping because they have a mild taste when raw and a satisfying crunch.
An added benefit that dipping vegetables into your creamy dip has is that it counters the guilt that comes with overindulging in large quantities of cheese and mayonnaise.
3. Salty Corn Chips
Everyone loves corn chips making them a safe option to serve with your whipped feta dip at parties. Plus, the salty crunch that they offer adds a depth of flavor to the dip working almost in contrast to the creaminess that the cheese, yogurt, and mayonnaise bring.
When buying your corn chips, make sure to pick the original or the lightly salted option. Try to avoid corn chips that have other seasonings added, as this will distract from the taste of the dip.

Karlynn – in your picture showing it on a plate, the dip looks almost like a sauce, very thin. Have you tested options for making it more consistently thick at refrigerated and room temperature? That would be better for parties.
Thanks!
