When the opportunity arose to preview the new kids movie A Turtle’s Tale 2 came up, I jumped on the bandwagon. Summertime isn’t usually a time of movies for our family, we are mainly outdoors, out and about and this year sees us camping at the lake every spare moment we get.

However.

This photo below sums up the weather we are getting at the lake.

Yikes.

thick clouds in the sky indication of a bad stormNeedless to say, when I received the email asking if I wanted to preview the movie with the kids, have a little snack fest and write about it, I knew exactly when we were going to watch this movie.

During one of the almost endless thunderstorms we are getting hit with here in Alberta.

The kids cozied up in the front master bedroom of Ā the trailer with my laptop playing the movie.

I may or may not have laid down with them to watch it.

What is it about the sound of rain on the roof that makes you so warm, cozy and comfy under a mass of blankets? We’ll forget the hail sound that followed later – oh yes, this was a doozy of a storm! I very glad indeed that my daughter had a movie, she gets worried about tornadoes when she is given the chance to think about it too much.

My little tornado worrier, completely wrapped up in the movie.

Can I say thank goodness for laptops?

They even got to snack – in bed!!- while watching the movie. If you are wondering what that treat is, I’ll be posting the recipe soon. So.Good.

The kids gave their input at the end of the movie and I must admit my son’s made me laugh!

“It’s a good movie for kids. Little kids, not big kids like me.”

**pauses**

“Mom, it’s SOO funny! There’s this blob fish guy..he’s funny.I would definitely rate it for kids. Definitely.”

Ah my boy. Still loves cartoons but at 9 apparently you gotta stay cool. I love though how even though it’s for little kids, he still liked it.

My little Rose girl had no issues.

“It was really awesome! My favorite part was when they got chased by piranhas! And I also liked the part when they went in the big fish tank in New York City.I totally would watch this again.”
