We went on our yearly ETS bus tour to view the lights at several areas in Edmonton, it is one of my favorite things to do at Christmas time. For a mere $3, you hop on an ETS bus, they turn off the lights, hand out carol sheets and you take off to view Candy Cane Lane, the museum, Whyte ave area and end up at the Legislature as well. I have no pics from the rest of the trip, because it had to be THE most eventful tour I have been on yet. We had to rescue people stranded on the tour in front of us, which took about 30 minutes, and then at the Leg, an elderly lady fell and we had to wait for an ambulance to come, and then they ended the trip prematurely. The kids were SO good natured about it, I was impressed, because in all the delays took over an hour combined, and we missed part of the tour. They didn’t care, I had a bagful of snacks (thank the gods above!!!) and they got candy canes galore. Who needs lights?
The Legislature here in Edmonton always has an amazing ice sculpture just outside in front, all lit up and amazing detailing. Can you see how there is even a little smoke swirl coming out of the top of the chimney below? This year was a log cabin surrounded by trees and little animals, and the kids were absolutely enthralled, as was I.
The lights outside are beautiful as well, and welcome you into the Legislature.
Where there is a beautiful tree done up so wonderfully, and free hot chocolate for anyone who wants. The kids wanted. And had. And loved it.
