I have been wanting to go to Disneyland at Halloween for years now.I have been to Disneyland at Christmas twice now and as much as I adore Christmastime at Disneyland, I have been wishing hard for years to be able to check out Disneyland all decked out for my second favorite holiday.
Pumpkins and bats and spiderwebs, oh my! It sure didn’t disappoint me after waiting all of these years!
There are pumpkins everywhere, with bright orange and yellow material draped to decorate various buildings thoughout the park. Main Street, of course, is the most decorated of all.
Now, you know me, I wanted to check out the goodies!
Our usual Starbucks Mickey Cookies are transformed into Mickey Bats for Halloween, which are absolutely adorable! I was so sad that the kids weren’t with us, they would have loved these! These can be found at the two Starbucks, one in each park.
There is more delicious Halloween fare to be found scattered through the park! These adorable ( and delicious) cupcakes was our breakfast one morning.
And you wonder why I cleanse when I come home. This would be why.
What is Halloween without Pumpkin Spice?
This was an amazing pumpkin spice muffin and I don’t like most muffins unless I bake them. The center was filled with the delectable cream cheese frosting as well!
That’s right. My breakfast the first day was half a cupcake and half a muffin. It was totally awesome.
Now, the one major ride that I was excited to check out was Space Mountain, which turns into Ghost Galaxy for Halloween! I usually don’t go on Space Mountain as the lights honestly make me nauseous. I wanted to see how Ghost Galaxy was.
It was much, much better! It was actually pretty freaking awesome and I know that my kids would have LOVED IT! Next time I’ll have to be a better parent and take them.
There is simply nothing like the Haunted Mansion for Halloween. I have seen the Nightmare Before Christmas transformation before, but there is definitely something eerie and wonderful about this ride Ā when it’s Halloween and not Christmas. I LOVE the revamp and I am always so excited to see it whenever we go!
The second (third? fourth?) part that made me miss the kids was the transformation that Big Thunder Ranch undergoes for Halloween. There are small carnival games…
..a tent where the Disney villains are conjured up….
..pumpkin carvers to watch..
..that are way more talented that I will ever be…
…umm, make that ten billion times more talented than I will ever be.
A lot of the character are also in Halloween costume, which is just freaking adorable!
All in all, I am so happy that I finally got to see Disneyland at Halloween and the only thing that was missing was my kids. As fun as it was, oh, I can’t wait to take the kids back there!
So who has been at Halloween time? Apparently Disneyland actually has far more changes for the season that Disneyworld does, so if you are looking for spooky chills, I’d head to California instead!
Love you more than Disney,
Karlynn
