What our Canada Day has entailed so far..
Trying out my new camera on the sports setting to capture Mr Bumblebee mid flight, which is one of my favorite pictures this year, once I have time to really work on the editing, it will be a work of art.
Buying Mr Magpie a new BBQ and saying “Happy Canada Day! Build it while I go get groceries! Loveyoubye.”
Kicking the tires and lighting the fires for some lunchtime smokies. My son helped build the BBQ as well, so now we have a proud as a peacock 7 year old boy today.
Enjoying the yard blooms.
Feeding my animal princess, Scooby, her dandelions and grass.
My human Princess playing in the sandbox…
My boy having quite enough of pictures already. Son, the weekend has barely started!
It’s a brief break time then the tent will be set up, wood chopped and everything ready to go for the second official Magpie Staycation. It still is plenty of work, but as I loaded the dishwasher with real plates from dinner, threw a load of laundry in the wash and readied the nice foam mattresses to sleep on tonight I don’t have a pinch of regret we aren’t really out camping!
My Kindle is loaded with 5 new books, the kids have their “camping food”, art supplies, bubbles and more. We. Are.Set.
Oh, and beer. I AM Canadian, after all. What’s Canada Day without a cold brew?
I hope everyone is enjoying this amazing long weekend, seeing friends old and new, enjoying the beauty of this amazing province set in a country we are so very, very fortunate to live in.
Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canucks, we live in the best country in the world!
Love,
The Proud Born N’ Bred Canadian Maple Leaf Lovin’ Magpie
