Once my son built the two wagons, red and yellow, he soon realized they were not indeed wagons, but train cars. He then scoured the box and found a picture of Santa in a train with yellow and red cars.
Yesterday he was slightly disappointed that it was the Christmas tree but soon was happily figuring out how to build it.
Santa came with the train engine in one package to my son’s utter delight and wish fulfilment.
Today….Christmas Eve…once we pry ourselves from the couch we are going to pop out to my parents acreage for some baking for me to do, mini-skidooing for the kids (and male adult supervisors) and trying to avoid my mom who I KNOW wants ONE LAST trip to Superstore.
They have a pretty big house and I can hide a few places but she’s going to find me, nonetheless, and drag me by my ear.
Then once the kids are completely worn out from the cold air and smell like skidoo exhaust (now THAT is the smell of the season to a winter country kid, takes me right back to my childood) we will come back, get the kids to bed and enjoy a quiet evening before the crazines tomorrow.
Who am I kidding, someone is going to be running to the Macs store buying scratch and lotto tickets because they forgot a present.
My money is on my brother for that one.
I hope everyone has a safe, happy healthy Christmas surrounded by loved ones and friends!
Merry Christmas to my friends, real, virtual and those who crossed the vast, cavernous interweb and became real girls and boys I know.
Here’s the grooviest, most favorite Christmas song ever, from me to you!
