young boy riding a bike, wearing a blue helmet trying to fly

I didn’t even realize that I took this picture until well after the fact. When my son apparently decided to try to fly, I was snapping pictures of both my children playing, and of course, when he fell I was too busy running towards him to think “ooh, I got the action shot!”

Good thing children have rubbery bones, I tell you.

Other than a good scare, he came out unscathed.

Not so sure about my nerves. Newp, not at all sure about those nerves.

And the picture doesn’t help my nerves, it just freaks me out all the more.

Look at how high he is and how little he looks.

I swear, this kid ages me 5 years daily.

The shaking hands from nerves?

Wine helps to steady them.

But alas, the grey hairs?

They’re getting harder to cover.

I should have started a “grey hair coverage” fund the day he arrived.
