fresh lemon boy tomatoes in wooden tray

If it’s lemon, I love it.

And these amazing Lemon Boy tomatoes are no exception.

I actually only have them because I shopped rather late at the garden center, and there were tons of these left.

For once my procrastinating paid off.

These have to be the most delicious tomato I have tasted in a while. They are sweet, succulent and wonderful fresh off the vine.

My children eat them like apples off a tree.

I know you are probably thinking that most tomatoes taste alike.

No no no, my friend.

I also just thought it was mainly the color difference, that they were yellow when ripe.

Newp.

They have a higher sugar content and are truly sweeter and less acidic than red tomatoes.

I want more to make salsa with. Sweet and spicy salsa….

Like all my tomatoes so far, this one has a blemish, but we just cut it out and ate the rest.

The crazy weather we are having this year is not tomato friendly.

Scorching heat one day, then 4 days of pouring rain. Then moderate temps for a week. Then pouring rain.

Then snow.

Hey, this is Alberta, let me tell you that it can happen people, it has snowed in the summer before.

The tomatoes are NOT amused.

But they are really damn tasty.

They look sooo good! I’m anxiously awaiting the ripening of my ordinary red ones but can anything taste better than tomatoes off the vine even if they’re average red ones? No. Just…no.
