The 21 Annual Chili cook-off, held by the Edmonton Downtown Business Association, happens again this Friday, November 4th 2011. And like last year, it promises to be better than ever.

Because once again, I am judging! Right there, that should be your reason for attending. Besides the fact that every year it supports a local charity, is a rip-snorting good time and you get to taste all sorts of chili from the finest dining establishments in town. The lovely Katherine Hoy  asked me if I would judge again this year and since it was so much fun last year I jumped on the chili bandwagon.

So come on down, enjoy some fantastic chili’s while supporting a good cause. Stop by and say hi if you see me wandering around aimlessly taking pictures after the judging – which I intend on doing- and have a great time!

The Heat Is On at the Downtown Business Associationā€™s
21st Annual Chili Cook Off !
Edmontonā€™s hottest and spiciest event is back! The Downtown Business Associationā€™s 21st Annual Chili Cook Off takes place this Friday, November 4 at Scotia Place, Main Level, from 11:30 am ā€“ 1:30 pm.
Nineteen teams representing some of Edmontonā€™s finest restaurants, media outlets, businesses and community groups, will cook up their tastiest batch of chili and battle for the coveted title of Ultimate Chili.
Competition will be fierce! Can last yearā€™s champion Hardware Grill retain their title? Can 2010 runners-up The Westin or L2 Grill take down the champ, or will an underdog team pull an upset?
Members of the public can sample these yummy chilis for just $2 per bowl and enter to win amazing draw prizes. CBC Late Night News Anchor Adrienne Pan will host The Cook Off Stage featuring live music by local artists Darrell Barr, Payton Klassen and Danielle Lowe.
All proceeds from this event will go to the DBAā€™s 2011 charity ā€œKids in the Hall Bistroā€, a downtown eatery that provides on-the-job training, education and emotional support for at-risk youth. The 2010 Chili Cook Off raised a record $7300 for charity. Letā€™s beat that record in 2011!
Please join us as we kick off Farm Fair and Canadian Finals Rodeo Week, and raise money for charity!
See you there — Friday, November 4!

Be there or be square!
