This is the 24th year of Full House Lottery and it’s attached to two hospitals here in Edmonton very near and dear to my heart, the Royal Alex and the University Hospital. The Full House Lottery raises money to support the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation and University Hospital Foundation.
Most of you don’t know it, but I had two higher risk pregnancies with both of my kids. With Mr K, I was put on bed rest AKA house arrest for high blood pressure about 6 months into my pregnancy. That was 14 years ago so blogging wasn’t even a thing, back then, which is actually a bummer because man, was I BORED! I could have taken over the world of blogging with all the time I had! And I was worried, and scared being a first time Mom and having problems from 6 months in.
I’m eternally gratefulĀ to say that both of my pregnancies ended well, as you can see from those twerps I post pictures of all the time. That was partly of course, thanks to my specialists at the Royal Alex and the Lois Hole Hospital for women. I pretty much lived there with my first pregnancy and was listed as a high risk patient from day one when I was pregnant with my daughter, soĀ over the span of a few years I was beyond familiar with the Alex.
This year, proceeds from Full House Lottery will support a PET Scanner at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation and the Stroke Ambulance at the University Hospital Foundation and there are more than $5.1 million in prizes up for grabs in this yearās lottery including luxurious grand prize dream homes, vacation packages, vehicles, and more.
In the previous 23 years, Full House Lottery has raised over $73 million towards the growing needs of Albertans in critical areas such as cardiac MRI technology, brain care, robotic surgery, neonatal intensive care, cardiac care, organ transplantations and advanced medical research. This yearās Early Bird prize (buy your ticket by May 4) is their biggest Early Bird prize ever: a downtown Edmonton condo and Maserati GranTurismo (valued at $656,873)
Is it wrong that I want that downtown condo as a Girl’s Only clubhouse?
TheĀ Grand Prize 1 home is valued at more than $2 millionĀ and the Grand Prize 2 homes are valued at $1.7 million each ā and whoever wins Grand Prize 2 gets to pick between one of the homes! How would I even choose?
People can tour theĀ grand prize homes 7 days a week: Monday to Friday from 1 to 8 p.m, Weekends & Holidays from 10 to 5:30 p.m. The homes are located at 907 Wood Place in Windermere.
I’d be ok with moving to Windermere. FOR SURE! Now, here are all the links you need to check out the Full House Lottery and buy your tickets to support a really good cause!

And the University hospital? I worked there part-time for years and years before I became a full-time food blogger! I worked a few evenings and weekends on the switchboard there, the perfect job for a stay-at-home Mom that needed out of the house once in a while for some adult time! I met so many amazing people there! That is also where The Kitchen Magpie started, with one of my co-workers ( that had a mouthful of my Thick & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies) told me all about food blogging and how I should start one because OMG these cookies were amazing and she needed the recipe. And so I did. And the rest is history!
Here I am, all this time later, food blogging, cookbook writing and it’s more than a full-time job! Crazy!
Thanks for reading and make sure to check it out and buy your tickets to support this great cause!
Love,
Karlynn
(Nope, not sponsored! I was going to attend one of their events and sadly tore my calf muscle and couldn’t help them out, so this is just from the bottom of my heart!)
