Our holiday season starts every year when my son’s birthday is over, and we head to the Christmas House (as it’s known in our household) for our first visit of the year. Known formally as Maisie’s Magical Christmas house, as sacriglious as this might sound coming from me, the Griswold’s ain’t got nothing on this house.
Every window is filled with a beautiful Christmas display, my son’s favorite is the small Christmas village with a train that goes around. I liked the nativity scene with the angel that moved, the wings actually moved as if it was flying. This year, so far, my favorite light display is the teddy bear and nutcrackers below:
The side view as we were coming up….
The view from 97th street, this is just one side of the house. All those windows have the most amazing displays in them, you can’t even fathom it until you visit.
And this is why we go about 6 or 7 times during the Christmas season, look at those smiles! My heart hurts happily every time I look at this picture and my eyes tear up at the absolute joy and excitement that is obvious. What a special childhood memory this house is for my kids, they have gone every Christmas and we just don’t feel Christmasy until we go there!
