If there are garden deals to be found, my sister and I will sniff them out. Even if I am 400Km away from home, in the middle of a wedding weekend and in a strange town. I just knew if I went to the Walmart in Okotoks, I would score! Ok, to be honest, I just went to get Mike “short white socks”. Yip. That was my order from him, short….white….socks.
However, my sister and I got completely distracted by the clearance items that were out. There was an entire rack of $5 items. The above yard clock, which I have looked at numerous times, was there, begging me to take it home. I was really excited to pick it up, we spend so much time in the yard and I don’t wear my watch while gardening, because dirt manages to get under my leather watchstrap even with gloves on. Eeeew. So i have hankered after a outdoor clock, but am too darn cheap. Or maybe frugal? Sure, we’ll go with frugal instead of squeaky cheap sometimes.
So onto Mr Bear. Who is not usually my type of ornament, I am more into elves and fairies, but he was $5, and I thought he was cute, and let me tell you, my daughter is enraptured. She loves him. She’s so going to break him if I don’t watch out, but that’s ok. He’s glueable. I hope. He does look freakin’ adorable sitting in my flowerbed, I must admit.
I also found these puppies with a Welcome sign and also thought of my daughter, this was supposed to go on the front steps, but has yet to make it there. My son promptly put it in the flowerbed on the other side of my Goldsturm Coneflower. Which is another new addition to the flowerbed.
Oh, and Mike’s white socks? Umm, well, good thing my brother remembered to get them for Mike. I was cheerily walking out of Walmart with my statuary tucked under my arm, whistling a merry tune and completely forgot.
